It has a silky feel , but substantial weight to fabric. It slides easily over a t shirt. My use is unorthodox. I am a member of a stage performing chorus and one of our numbers requires us to peel off a plaid shirt and expose a t shirt underneath with a bright sun. This shirt was the perfect answer. Now that I have fallen in love with the comfort of this shirt with easy closure, I am going to order more just for the ease and pleasure of wearing them. They are very high quality fabric and workmanship. .
